Make iPhone Photos Export as JPG
Most people don't realize that iPhone's built-in transfer paths can all deliver JPG without third-party tools. This page rounds them up by scenario — from system settings to cable import, pick whichever suits you.
The settings route
Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible: every photo from now on is JPG, problem solved at the source. The cost: roughly half the shots per gigabyte — space traded for peace of mind.
The cable route
Keep High Efficiency, then enable automatic transcoding: Settings → Photos → Transfer to Mac or PC → Automatic. Import over USB on Windows and the files land as converted JPGs; the Mac Photos app does the same. The original HEIC stays on the phone untouched.
The cloud route
The iCloud web download dialog offers 'most compatible' — the files you get are JPG. Watch out: some cloud drives' 'original file' modes and WeChat File Transfer keep HEIC intact, and you'll still be stuck with unopenable files.
The fallback route
When none of the above fits: open this site's tool in any mobile browser, select photos in bulk from the library and convert to JPG — processed locally, nothing uploaded. Dozens of photos convert in seconds, straight from the download list.
